We believe in the value of individual autonomy of local churches, overseen by their own pastors and leaders (Titus 1:5, 1 These 5:12, Heb 13:17). We still partner with other churches to reach the world.

The church is the only organization on the planet that has been commissioned to reaching the world with the saving message of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We choose to focus most of our efforts on Christian and missional activity in our local communities, such as bible study, evangelism, discipleship, and worship services.

We could easily be called Portland Baptist Church, but we chose to include the gospel in our name instead to focus our church vision around reaching others.

We love the bible! We believe it is God's word inspired for man today (2 Tim 3:16) and that you can know it and study if for yourself. Dispensationalism doesn't allegorize or overly spiritualize things that are hard to grasp. We simply put them in their place in time and history and learn from them.
